I wasn’t born with a camera in my hand but I do recall running around my neighborhood as a kid with a 35mm automatic snapping photos of almost anything. I pretended I was a spy once when a group of door to door evangelists came down the street; I hid in the bushes, pushed my camera towards the front of the branches and snapped a few photos as they climbed the cement steps of the Bungalow next door. As I remember, the photos were terrible but I had a lot of fun making them and all the others I took growing up. All these years later I still have fun making photos and I’ve learned a lot along the way. I’ve taken what I’ve learned, taught photography classes for the last few years and have discovered teaching people about the use of their cameras, lenses and flashes is just as much fun for me as making photos. I’m also continuing to learn myself and thought I’d share my experiences as I go in hopes that others might pick up a thing or two from my occasional success and my innumerable failures.
The goal is post something biweekly so check back now and then to see what’s new.
